Do I need a licence to charter?
For bareboat motor charter in France you need the appropriate licence; sailboats can be chartered without one if you can prove experience. With a skipper, no licence is needed at all — he or she remains in command.
How does the deposit work?
A security deposit is blocked (not debited) at check-in, and released after check-out if the boat comes back as it left. Deposit insurance can reduce the amount at risk — we tell you when it's worth it.
What if the weather turns bad?
Skippered charters adapt the programme with you. For bareboat, most contracts allow rescheduling when the harbourmaster closes the port — we make sure that clause is in yours before you sign.
