Buying service — independent buyer's advocate

The right boat, the right price, the right flag.

An independent purchase service: I work for you, never for a seller. Search, sea trials, survey, negotiation, VAT and registration — through to the keys in your hand.

The passage plan

Seven waypoints, one handover

A yacht purchase runs like a passage: planned, sequenced, with no improvisation at sea.

  1. WP-01

    Define the brief

Programme, crew, cruising area, total budget — including the running costs nobody mentions.

  2. WP-02

    Shortlist with arguments

Three to five models that genuinely fit, with the trade-offs written down. Not a catalogue dump.

  3. WP-03

    Hunt the units

Visible market and off-market. Fleet history, hours, refit records — filtered before you travel.

  4. WP-04

    Visits & sea trials

I attend every visit and trial with you, checklist in hand — or run them for you remotely.

  5. WP-05

    Survey & negotiation

Independent surveyor, oil analysis, rig check. Findings become arguments; arguments become price.

  6. WP-06

    Paperwork without pain

Flag, VAT status, finance, insurance, registration. The administrative passage, plotted in advance.

  7. WP-07

    Handover & first miles

Technical handover, systems walkthrough, first passage together if you wish. The keys, and confidence.

Buying service — search to keys

Why an advocate — not another broker

Paid by you alone

No seller commission, no retro-commission from yards or brokers. My incentive is your outcome.

Off-market reach

Our network of yards, skippers and owners surfaces boats before they are listed.

Savings that pay the fee

Between survey leverage and market data, negotiated savings routinely exceed the honorarium.

Fees

Flat fee or a percentage of the purchase price — agreed before any search begins. Detailed grid on request: every project is different.

First call and project review: free, and without obligation.

Straight answers

How much does the service cost?

A flat fee for defined-scope missions, or a percentage of the purchase price for full mandates — always fixed in writing before the search starts. The first project review costs nothing.

Do you work with brokers?

Constantly — on your side of the table. Brokers represent sellers; I represent you. The two roles are complementary, not interchangeable.

New build or pre-owned?

Both. New builds involve spec sheets, options strategy and yard slots; pre-owned involves surveys and history. The process adapts, the independence doesn't.

Where do you operate?

Mediterranean first — France, Italy, Spain, Greece — with partners across the Atlantic coast and the Caribbean for fleet-exit catamarans.
