Our take
There is no other boat quite like a Menorquin, which is the entire commercial argument. The silhouette is lifted directly from the llaüt, the Balearic fishing boat: a high flared bow, a long unbroken sheer running down to a low transom, and acres of teak. Underneath it is a modern semi-displacement hull that will hold 16 knots comfortably and touch 23 when asked, though pushing it misses the point — the boat is at its best at ten knots with the doors open. Available as a hard top or with a flybridge, it carries 1,200 litres of fuel and 500 of water, which is real autonomy for a 42-footer and speaks to how these boats are used: anchored off Formentera for a week rather than moved every day. Owners tend to buy one and keep it, and values reflect that.
