The story

Brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti entered boating in 1968 in Bologna, selling and servicing boats before building their first motorsailer in 1971. From the early 1980s the yard committed to flybridge motoryachts, and that programme has never really changed: comfortable, fast-enough planing hulls, generous flybridges, interiors tuned to Italian residential taste.

Ferretti Yachts became the founding brand of Ferretti Group, which grew by acquisition — Riva, Pershing, Itama, CRN, Custom Line, Wally — and has been controlled since 2012 by China's Weichai Group, with listings in Hong Kong and Milan. The brand itself stays disciplined: a ladder of flybridge models from 50 to 100 feet, built at Forlì and Cattolica, refreshed by designers such as Filippo Salvetti. Less showy than Pershing, less patrician than Riva, it remains the group's backbone.
