Prestige M48

The M48 was Prestige's first multihull: in 2022 the Les Herbiers yard opened an M-Line to reach buyers its monohull flybridges no longer converted. Philippe Briand drew the hulls — narrow, shallow, 1.20 m of draft — and Garroni the superstructure; the brief was never speed but stability at anchor and a six-metre-wide living platform on a fifteen-metre boat. Twin Volvo D4-320s on V-drives hold 16 knots, which is modest and deliberately so: the programme is coastal family cruising and long stops, not fast passages. The reservations are real. The M48 is expensive per foot, awkward to berth in marinas that price by beam, and no more frugal than a monohull at 16 knots — it makes sense at 8 to 10. Prestige has announced the M6 as its successor, which makes the M48 a first-generation boat. Used, the market is thin rather than weak: few hulls, informed buyers, and depreciation so far contained.
