Our take
For eight years the F55 held the middle of Princess's flybridge line, between the F50 and the F62. The ingredients were house standard: an Olesinski deep-V hull, resin-infused at Plymouth, and by the end a single engine choice, twin Volvo D13-900s for 33 knots. The brief was circulation rather than speed — an aft galley opening onto the cockpit through a servery, a saloon glazed on three sides, three cabins lit by deep hull windows. The compromise shows in the numbers: 4.87 m of beam on 17.68 m overall, which makes for a narrow flybridge and a third cabin in single berths, while 2,750 litres of fuel keep the programme coastal. Superseded by the F58 in 2025, it remains one of the most liquid British flybridges on the used market, roughly €1.1m to €2m depending on year. Mind the name: Princess reassigned F55 in 2026 to a shorter, newer boat.
Worth noting
- Motor Boat Awards 2019 winner, best flybridge under 60ft
- Optional aft crew cabin with its own heads
- Deep hull windows in all three guest cabins
- RCD Category B, up to 200 miles from shelter
