Lagoon

Lagoon was created in 1984 inside Jeanneau Techniques Avancées, the racing division then building ocean multihulls for the great singlehanded events. From the first cruising models, naval architecture was entrusted to Van Peteghem Lauriot-Prévost (VPLP), a collaboration never interrupted since. When Jeanneau joined Groupe Beneteau in 1995, Lagoon followed, inheriting the Bordeaux industrial base that would turn a niche builder into a true series producer.

The decisive step came in 1999 with the Lagoon 380 and its vertical saloon glazing: more than a thousand hulls built, and a brand identity fixed for good — maximum habitable volume on a given length. Lagoon has dominated the segment by output ever since, with a range from 40 to 78 feet built in Bordeaux and Vendée. The catamaran boom of the 2010s is, to a significant degree, of its making.
